The Yellow-faced Honeyeaters were flying essentially from west to east and generally along the ridge between the water tanks and the trig station on the northern part of Red Hill nature reserve (see map below). The sightings coincided
with where we were for surveying purposes at the time and movement didn’t really get going until about 11:00 h (had we finished the survey at a more normal time, say around 9:30, we would have missed them completely).
Where the honeyeaters would have gone once they hit the eastern edge of the reserve, probably around Moresby and Torres Streets, is anyone’s guess. But this is slightly north of you. I have no way of knowing what (if any) movement/migration
there may have been at this time (11:00-12:00 h) over other parts of the reserve.

Harvey, Which way were your HEs flying on Red Hill, on Sunday? Where would you expect to see them next? We were at Jerrabomberra, near Lindsay's place about midday on Sunday. We only stayed about 15 minutes as it started to rain.
We saw no HEs. We live in Griffith, almost directly east of the gap between the hills on Red Hill. We have not seen any HEs flying over our place. Geoffrey, a little to the south of us, but higher, has not reported HEs flying over his place, or maybe he
has. I think that HEs have been reported flying through Callum Brae, but not a lot
How come Martin is seeing HEs flying on a dull cloudy day? They are supposed to fly only when the sun is shining. It is very dull today. Perhaps there are more flying above the clouds. Any other reports of HEs flying today?
Elizabeth
