Mea culpa.
I had got myself confused in the memory of an exchange on Birding-aus where the various taxonomies seem to take various approaches to Asian, Pacific, Australian and Eastern Koels. It appears that the BA Rarities Committee (BARC_Australian_Checklist_v2014Jan) see the two possible species in Australia as Asian Koel (Indian Ocean Islands) and Pacific Koel. That source seems to regard the name 'Eastern Koel' as passe. This seems to lead to view that BA and its rarities committee are using different names which could lead to some interesting outcomes.
