I have heard that some equate each YTBC with an inch of rain; 5 cockies fly over, 5 inches of rain coming.

I stopped believing it the day 500 flew over me in the Blue Mountains.

Looking at the current radar image would suggest that any such prediction is taking a long view - to about Adelaide.

3+ Yellow Tailed Black Cockatoos in west Deakin (nr Kent St) at present, sitting in our Yellow Box , whistling and squawking at each other, wheeling around then returning.

Has anyone heard of the belief that such behaviour predicts rain?
