The 2 Caspian Terns were again at Kellys Swamp at lunchtime today (loafing in shallow water just off the far bank opposite and down from Cygnus hide. Other specialties of the past few days all still present too (i.e. painted-snipe, both
spoonbills, stilt, Sharpies & Pec, Spotted Crake etc).
On the way to Kelly’s I dropped in to Aspen Island where there were
six Pied Cormorants roosting in the usual trees, together with 15 Great Cormorants and 2 Darters (including 1 female on a nest low over the water). Don’t know if the 6 Pied include the 2 birds that hang out where Jerrabomberra Creek enters the lake.
