I saw one ( i.e. a Barbary Dove = African Collared Dove Streptopelia risoria) on the light pole outside my place (Gleneagles, Kambah) in 2012. I think I was on my way to the airport at the time so couldn't follow up, and can't now recall the details, but it was probably in February. I must have dismissed it fairly readily as an obvious aviary escapee as I never recorded the details.

Morning all,

This was sent to both Geoffrey Dabb and myself this morning. Obviously Joe knows of our dislike for exotics (read Spotted Dove in this case) in the local area.

“One for all exotic dove haters! A Barbary Dove calling from atop a street light in Amaroo this morning. Took off towards Forde.”

Cheers,

Mark
