Painted honeyeaters

Yesterday three of us went out to Stoney Creek to check if the painted
honeyeaters are still around.

We saw two birds in the eucalypts opposite the casuarinas. The nest in the
casuarinas appeared to have been abandoned - there was no activity of any kind
near it.

Also seen: varied sittella, superb fairy wren, dusky woodswallow, eastern
rosella, Australian raven, magpie, magpie lark, black faced cuckoo shrike,
mistletoe bird, striated pardalote, kestrel, red rumped parrot, kookaburra
being harassed vigorously by white browed woodswallow, starling, willy wagtail,
dollar bird, crimson rosella, great black cormorant, yellow faced honeyeater,
rainbow bee eater and white winged chough.

Cheers

Anne
