I flushed a roosting budgie at about 5:40 this morning in Mulligans' Flat. The bird was probably less than 1m from me at head height when it flew off at supersonic speed with distinctive flight/call/shape. Unfortunately I hadn't spotted it before then! Milburn and I couldn't ascertain where it landed as it disappeared into the sunrise - but was last estimated to be flying into Goorooyaroo and heading for NSW, and wasn't seen again for the rest of the morning. It seemed quite convincingly to be a wild-type bird.
