Last week I located a Greenfinch nest with young at Jerrabomberra Wetlands. I thought nothing of it when I found it but when I looked at the COG database and Eremaea there are no nest records. There are records of dependent young but not nests. The record will be in the Blitz.

Also a Hobby on a nest today at Mulligans Flat. While there are nest records for this species in about half of the years with data in the COG database, most of these years have records for only one location (ie report only one nest for the year). There are no records of breeding for this species at Mulligans Flat in either the COG database or Eremaea. One bird was on the nest while the other was ‘defending’ it from a mob of Sulphur-crested Cockatoos. Photo shows the bird which was on the nest just prior to leaving for a short period.
