David,
Just about every time I have been to Sturt I have seen Grey Falcons, even sitting on the road on the gibber plain heading for Queensland. Quite a few years ago a group of us obtained permission to camp on Bollards Lagoon property. We got to our campsite in the dark and next morning got out of our tents and what did we find ........ a a pair of Grey Falcons sitting in a tree very close to a pair of Letter-winged Kites. One day I will show the slides that were taken at COG.
I have another group heading up to Sturt NP and Lyndhurst in a couple of weeks. Did you see anything else of interest, eg Budgies (one of the team is desperate to see some) Letter-winged Kites, and the whitefaces near Lyndhurst. If you have a list of what you saw I would be interested in a copy if possible please (off line might be best).
Thanks,
Mark

Subject: [canberrabirds] Grey Falcons, Sturt NP
Kathy and I are just back from a round trip that took in Mutawintji National Park, Sturt National Park, Cameron Corner, Innamincka, Lyndhurst and Gluepot Reserve.
By far the highlight of the trip was finding a pair of Grey Falcons consuming a Whiskered Tern on the shore of Lake Pinaroo in Sturt NP, our first GFs and proof (to us at least) that they do exist!
For anyone interested here are some photos:
