Sorry
with: "Or at last out of the tree about 2 or 3 days earlier than they normally
would." That "last" was intended to be "least" which will make the
context more sensible. My keyboard misses about 40% of the times I press
the letter "e" (unless I hit it twice as hard as any othr ky).

By the
look of it, it is out of the nest about 2 or 3 days earlier than they normally
would. Or at last out of the tree about 2 or 3 days earlier than they normally
would.
If it
doesn't fall victim to any of several possible predators, and it parents can
still find it to feed it, my guess is it should be able to move around and at
least basic flying in about 4 - 5 days. If it gets that far then it will
still be with its parents for another few weeks.

Sorry, the end of the email didn't go through due to gremlins...try
again.
Today a peewee fledgling appeared on my front door step. I presume
it came from a nest above the house. It just stood on the doorstep for about 2
hours whilst it's parents came and went, and fought off various other peewees
and magpies.
Curiously wondering if anyone might have any idea how long
it might take for this bird to get its wings so it's not so vulnerable? I won't
intervene but i'd like to imagine it has a long life ahead. It eventually jumped
under some bushes, to my relief.
Thanks
Joanne
