That must have been the same flock which flew over the Uriarra Village horse paddock yesterday. The magpies out this way are also very aggressive. In addition to their usual target of bike riders, in the last couple of weeks I've seen a magpie pursuing a wedge tailed eagle (near Uriarra Crossing) and another lone magpie attempting to disperse a group of about ten yellow tailed black cockatoos (in the Uriarra Village horse paddock).

FWIW there was a large group of Straw Necked Ibis in a field near the Scout Camp on Cotter Road on the weekend.

And an extremely aggressive Magpie on the walk up to the top of Cotter Dam. :P

Yesterday, Tues 15th when doing the ANU survey in the woodland next to the dam, I counted around 60 Ibis flying - there may have been more.
