Hi Jenny,
 
It is a young male Gang-gang Cockatoo. He hasn't lost red feathers. He hasn't grown them yet. It takes some time before they grow from grey to the full red head. We do get the idea coming through at times that a bird that might have lost feathers is old, all birds lose their feathers each year. I don't see any sign of BFD.

Hi Bird Lovers

 

This guy landed in my bosses backyard. He has lost his red head plumes. Guesses to whether this is just an old bird or perhaps something like beak and feather disease?

His beak looks ok but is a bit knarly….
