Despite the fact that it is nearly spring we had a lacklustre drive along
Lake Rd near Bungendore this afternoon.
Very few small bush birds and many regulars were AWOL including red Browed
and Double Bar Finches and goldfinches. Heard one Yellow Faced H/e and one
red Wattlebird – the only honeyeaters. No robins so they seemed to have moved
on.
Still a large number of Pink Eared Ducks on the lagoon/swamp plus a lone
freckled Duck. Quite a few Grey Teal
A few cattle egrets in a paddock just near the Lake Rd junction with the
main road to Sutton.
Shovellors and Hard Heads on the Bungendore Sewage Ponds.
