What's next for the no hunting campaign?
The majority of what we called on the NSW Government for has been
delivered.
What remains will require your support over the coming months as we
push for the change to legislation that will secure our plight to protect
park users, including the great National Parks and Wildlife Staff, from
ad-hoc recreational hunting on public land. Getting the legislation
through will require the support of the NSW ALP and the Greens. More to
come on that in the next few weeks....
This is what we have put forward to the NSW Government since 4 July
2013 when the major changes to the hunting program were announced:
> To apply the same management principles set for national parks to
state forests
> To ensure that the funds given to NSW Police to crack down on
illegal hunting activity remain
> To ensure that all future decions around addressing pest animal
issues on public land are informed by the best available science and
include appropriate consultation.
> To transfer funds dedicated to the Game Council for controlling
pest animals are given over to the National Parks and Wildlife Service.
"NSW Teachers Federation calls for end to hunting in parks"
Did you know that in the lead up the changes, NPA successfully worked
with the NSW Teachers Federation to get a resolution passed of teachers
objecting to hunting in national parks? NSW Tafe and Public School
Teachers and students were going to lose access to public land for school
excursions, field studies and other outdoor activities.

Image attached: This is the kind of thinking that
prevails through the party that attempted to open up all of our national
parks and other public lands to recreational hunting. Note, we don't
advocate for childhood obesity, but we certainly don't support children
using public spaces as playgrounds for hunting.
Thanking you
