My local pair started nest-building on Monday (in Page). By Thursday the nest was about a quarter finished, but construction has now ceased. The pair regularly return to the site but seem to be unsure about whether it’s the right spot now. They normally commence nest building in the last week in July so are a bit earlier this year. The pair who nest in the park at the end of the street started nest building last week but they too have paused. b

twice this last week I have seen magpies apparently collecting nesting material. Is this earlier than normal?
