National Parks in NSW have recently banded Hooded Plovers with identifying flags. The press release:
gives only the general NPWS number for reporting them. When I reported one last week, the person answering the phone didn't know anything about reporting flagged birds. I was eventually given the number of the researcher and I left a message on their answering machine. It would have been easier to use the ABBBS email address.

If you are at the coast, keep an eye out for them.
