Gang-gangs or Gang-gang heard Sat morning out my way (Yass River - Lade Vale)
for the first time ever. Must've been passing through as I didn't hear them
again. Lack of migrating HE's yday was noticed, couple of small flocks but less
than previous few weeks. Found an autumn orchid sp. too btw.

I have had an idea. It will probably be shot down in flames but I will give it
an airing.

Gang-gangs have been reported from different parts of Canberra. I am
suggesting that on one morning, soon, between 8 and 9am, or any hour chosen,
we count the gang-gangs near us, and report the numbers to the chat line. I
realise that this will not be a proper survey but it will give some idea how
widely they are scattered and a minimum number.

I am not volunteering to follow up on this but surely someone could?

We have had between 3 and 8 over the past few days. They seem to be keen on
the seeds of the liquid amber; and they certainly like the berries of the
hawthorn Elizbeth
