Having spent the weekend in the eastern end of the Shoalhaven region (east of the coastal escarpment) I can report that the Banksia ericifolia and Red Bloodwood Eucalyptus (Corymbia gummifera) around Tianjara and down towards Jervis Bay are now heavily in flower.. This seems to coincide with the early movement on Honeyeaters from the alps, through Canberra. I have not yet seen any migrating parties of Yellow-faces or White-napes passing though Robertson. There is a vast amount of food available to them immediately south from here, so they will probably dally around the abundant food sources on the Shoalhaven valley, until the weather changes, but that is not anticipated for some time. Cheers Denis Wilson.
