The survey at Mt Ainslie East was carried out this morning under perfect weather conditions for it, at least for the observer. A total of 40 species were recorded, with 34 of those at sites.  1 Little Eagle was the more noteworthy species.
Otherwise the typical range of species for the time of year was encountered: Rufous and Golden Whistler, both Gerygones, 3 x Speckled Warbler (incl. 2 x at sites), 1 Scarlet Robin, 1 Jacky Winter singing, hardly any Honeyeaters of note (1 White-eared H., Brown-headed H. heard; only the odd Red Wattlebird), MFF at 2 sites.
