How is that not a "quality picture"? Looks great to me. About "perhaps they're becoming a little more abundant this season". Well yes, if you mean autumn, as distinct from last season, being summer, that would be a normal pattern. As most observations for them in Canberra (as distinct from the ranges), are when they pass through in autumn and spring and turn up in some unusual habitats. The GBS Report summarises their notably regular pattern.

I was delighted to encounter not one, but two small groups of Rufous Fantails on the SE slopes of Mt.Ainslie this morning. Unfortunately I didn't get any quality pictures (hence thumbnail only) ...but good enough to confirm identification and notch up my 93rd species photographed out of 95 observed in the area over the last 3 years.

 
With one other report of this species in a garden this week, perhaps they're becoming a little more abundant this season.
