Rose Robins are also
fairly regular visitors to the Pinnacle NR, which is just up the
hill from Kama.

Hi Philip,
The only reason that I didn't,think it was
a Rose Robin is because the colour's on the wings in my
photo,s are a light brown and not white, but saying that the
bird was fairly high up in the trees,i haven’t seen a Rose
Robin at Karma before and certainty Rose Robins seem to be
fairly common in the ANBG.

Hi Roger,
Yes that is a hard one. The
photos come across as very dark. I increased the
brightness. My guess is a female Rose Robin. It
appears to show a bit of whitish outer tail feathers
and some other white edge to other tail feathers. If
so, that would rule out Pink Robin. Not that I have
been to Karma reserve (is that Kama) but the Pink
Robin is normally a forest bird and I suspect that
isn't. Lack of white spot on forehead would appear to
rule out Scarlet Robin and not enough reddish front.
The colour and placement of the wing markings maybe
fits the Rose Robin best and they are known to move
through odd habitats (other than forest) when moving.
Female Flame Robin is my second guess but the shape is
not quite right (not long enough) and I suspect the
wing markings fit Rose Robin better (though the bird
is untidy).
Philip
All these photo’s are of the same
bird, taken at Karma reserve this afternoon. Which
Robin Please I lean towards Scarlet or may be Pink.
Thoughts please .
