A final note.  One effect of the morning’s gunshot was to cause most of the ducks on the dam to gather on the slope of the dam wall, which enabled a quick census.  Nearly all Grey Teal with a few Chestnuts, 3 ( I think) female shovelers, and a couple of pink-ears.  The only raptors noted were one Whistling Kite and a Wedgie.
