I've seen Sacred's fish plenty of times so I wouldn't take it as a defining characteristic.

Subject: [canberrabirds] Azure kingfisher in Hawker
Hi All
I've received a report from a friend of an Azure Kingfisher in Hawker. He says: "
We have an azure kingfisher smashing it's face into our windows. I kid you not!" and "
It hit the window 4 times, then sat under the patio for ages, then flew around and away, some magpies started chasing it." Doubting his claim very much, believing it to be a sacred, Discussion with Julian Teh has led me to believe it to be an Azure kingfisher. The evidence is this: "
It was azure blue and very fast... We had them occasionally in Brisbane and, yes I looked exactly like the
picture, but it was a bit scraggly. It ate one of our goldfish too." This meant nothing to me, but Julian claims that Sacreds are not fishing species, yet Azures are fishing species.
