Hi Peter
No relevant observations for pardalotes, but I have seen other spp abandon nests in similar locations after major storms.  I recall an incubating blackbird abandoned its nest under eaves in my street after the 25 October 2012 storm, and all mynas nesting in roof drainage structures in my study area have abandoned their nests since the 26 Jan storm.
Cheers
Daryl

I had three active Striated Pardalote nest boxes under my eaves at Aranda on Sun 21 Jan when I left for a week to spend with friends. On my return on Mon. 28 Jan all was quiet in the pardalote nest box area and I haven't heard a single pardalote call in the area since.

Is it likely that all the adults that were using the nest boxes were killed in the storm that raged through the area during that week (Sat 26th I think)?

Last year the last batch of nestlings left after 2-2-12 but I have no record of the date. In 1991 one nest box was active on 12-3-91 but I have no record if there were young in the nest box at that time.

Cheers
Peter
