While on the subject of egrets, there was one at the Bungendore Ponds on the 1st, but I am yet to conclude what species it was. Here are photos of the entire bird, and a close up of the head. I'm a bit confused by my field guide, as the neck appears to be the same length as the body (= Intermediate), but the head is long and snakey, with flat forehead (= Great), but again the bare skin doesn't extend behind the eye (= Intermediate).
