Likewise about 30 minutes ago, I watched the local male Koel perched, rather bedraggled, on the powerline just above my driveway. Though in the time I saw it, it was not actually rain bathing. This is the first time I have seen a Koel out in the open. Although close, the sky was so dark, I needed the binoculars to be sure that is what it was.
 
Years ago when I was CBN editor I put together a set of small articles about various birds rain and foliage bathing.
