Thanks for all the messages about good crimson rosella locations. It gives me somewhere to start as opposed to aimlessly wandering or driving around. I haven't had much luck so far finding piping birds down here in Geelong, but as far as I can tell they don't seem to congregate reliably in any areas (here that is). Hopefully I will have more luck back home in Canberra.

Thanks again!

Hello all,

As some of you may know I am currently studying crimson rosellas, specifically vocal variation in their piping calls. I am based in Geelong at the moment but will be back in Canberra (and the south coast) for xmas. I am planning to bring my recording equipment up with me in the hopes of getting some recordings to add to my data set.

I just thought I would ask if anyone knows of any reliable places in the Canberra region or on the south coast (Batemans Bay to Bega) for crimson rosellas. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Erika
