I had a trip out to Jindalee National Park and further today. I visited both halves of the Park and although the country is looking well-watered there wasn't abundant bird-life (nothing flowering). There were Dusky and White-browed Woodswallows, a Red-capped Robin, many Brown Treecreepers and a few White-throated, and some Superb Parrots. However the most interesting sighting was around 30 Apostlebirds in the front paddock of the NP. This is further east than I have seen them before.

On a sad note I noted the continued absence of White-Browed Babblers. I have not seen them here since around 2005. As anyone seen them there recently? Does anyone have a viable site for them nearer than Weddin Mountains or Cocoparra?

I continued onwards to the roads north of Stockinbingal, particularly YeoYeo Road. Around these roads I saw dozens of Choughs and Apostlebirds and one party of Grey-crowned Babblers. Other good sightings were White-browed Woodswallows, Brown Songlarks and three or four small parties of Cockatiels.

On the theme of birds moving eastwards I also saw a Pied Butcherbird 1 km e of Harden on the way back.
