It is probably a young Galah, I don't know what you mean by but has a pinkish comb. Young Galahs have more pink in the
crest and are generally greyer on the breast than adults are. It is probably
perfectly OK, just waiting for its parents. Best thing to do is get it off the ground onto a tree. Without stressing
it, the best way to do this for a young parrot is get a long branch or broom or
similar, and standing as far from the bird as possible gently touch the other
end of the branch on its belly feathers in front of its feet, so that it will
stand forward onto the branch, then carry the bird and branch to a tree and
position its feet just behind the branch of a tree and it should again stand
forward onto the tree branch. Then just leave it alone. Or that is what I
do.

Saw a galah looking bird very near the ground in my back yard and it
allowed me to go right up to it but tried to bite if I went to touch it. Thought
it may be an escapee but has a pinkish comb and very dark eye (not blue or red)?
I am in Calwell and if anyone knows of anyone missing a bird like this, let me
know as taking it to the vet as very quiet and not moving much. Don’t believe it
to be fledging has all other feather colours.
