The Cicadabirds are in the high country. Recorded two in two separate
grids yesterday (one about five km along Bendora Road from Bull's Head)
seemed to be sedentary; another, down towards Brindabella Station seemed
to be just passing through).
When checking the calls for Pilotbird and Golden Whistler on the COG CD,
I noticed that they are very similar. If anyone has an easy cue to
distinguishing one from the other, I would appreciate knowing what it
is. As a result I did not record Pilotbirds... too uncertain. Lyrebird,
Olive Whistler, Satin Flycatcher, Satin Bowerbird, Eastern Whipbird and
Red-browed Treecreepers were all around and about: no Brush Cuckoo,
Wonga Pigeon or Rufous Fantail were recorded.
regards
Con
