cuckoo behaviour

Ian's post made me recall a sighting of (I believe) 3 Horsfield's Bronze-cuckoos behaving in a similar manner at the Kowen Pound TSR.  Unfortunately the post I lodged with the chatline does not go into detail.  My GBS history records an occasion in the first week of October 2010 when I had 3 Shining Bronze-cuckoos  which I remember were chasing one another through the canopy of a large Eucalyptus macrorhynca.

I was totally misidentifying the calls. There were 3 birds, moving slowly through the trees, but in the process constantly chasing each other, calling constantly and continually stopping to display with spread wings and a quivering posture; this was usually done on an open branch, sometimes very close to one of the others. We watched for most of half an hour, and in the end left them to it.
