Yesterday at Mulligans Flat, I located a
White-throated Gerygone under construction. The location was a bit different to
the nests I have located previously. It is in a tree (I will call it that
because it is a Eucalypt) which is just over 2m high with the nest at about
1.5m, much lower than any other nests I have found. Despite thinking that there
was a nest in the tree and the tree being very small, it took some time
obvserving the bird before the nest could be located. The leaf attached to the
nest like an awning gives some idea of the size.
