There were 5 newly hatched cygnets with their parents on the pond adjacent to the 5th fairway at Magpies Belconnen Golf Course, Holt, on Sunday, 26th August. We have been seeing an adult on a nest for some time now, so it's great to see they have succeeded in hatching a brood. Also seen on the first 9 holes on that afternoon: 40+ Red-browed Finches, 2 Diamond Firetails, 20+ Red-rumped Parrots and 1 Black-faced Cuckoo-shrike, plus the usual suspects for a golf course.
