COG members will be concerned about this news received today from a friend:

"Hi, there has been a veritable flood of (mostly) bad news for environmental values recently. The latest was yesterday when the Shooters and Fishers gave notice of a bill that will push for the reintroduction of duck hunting in NSW. The following info courtesy of NSW Greens
For your information, Robert Brown gave notice of the following bill in the LC yesterday. The bill itself is not available.
819. Mr Brown to move—
That leave be given to bring in a bill for an Act to amend the Game and Feral Animal Control Act 2002
and the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1974 to make further provision with respect to the hunting or
killing of game birds and other game animals; and for other purposes.
(Game and Feral Animal Control Further Amendment Bill)
(Notice given 14 August 2012).
This Party is successfully alienating increasing numbers of NSW voters, I would not now be surprised to hear that  the RSPCA gets heavily against this amendment"

You will be aware that this follows NSW legislation allowing 'game' shooters into national parks, and a committee formed to inquire into the possible revocation of certain national parks.
