A local landowner invited me to go and have a look at some cygnets on a marsh this morning. 5 had hatched earlier in the week and 4 were still seen, with their parents this morning. Also at least 10 Australasian Shovellers (unusual out here) and the usual suspects. An addition to the local list was at least 4 Hoary-headed Grebes, mixed in with a lot of Australasian Grebes. Driving to the marsh we came across at least 12 Flame Robins of which only 3 were breeding plumage males. Raptors also good with Brown Falcon, Australian Hobby, Nankeen Kestrel and the resident Spotted Harrier. Martin
