25/6/12 Hackett Pl: 2 mynas, 3 sparrows, 1 striated pardalote, 4 silvereyes, 1 red wattlebird. Mt Majura gate Blue metal Path. 12 species, Inclu 6 miners, 1 kookaburra sunning, 4 spotted pardalotes, 1 striated pardalote, 5 ww Choughs. Lower dam: 14 species, inclu 1 male scarlet robin, 1 golden whistler, 1 g fantail, 2 striated pardalotes, 5 spotted pardalotes. Upper dam: 14 species, Inclu: 1 common bronzewing, 2 speckled warbler (male and female), 1 female scarlet robin, 1 golden whistler, 1 spotted pardalote, 1 grey currawong, 2 redbrows, 2 grey fantails, Top Horse Stile. 9 species, 1 GST, 2 WTT, 1 male golden whistler, 6 WW choughs, 3 spotted pardalotes and 1 grey fantail. Majura Pines: 7 species Inclu: 1 male scarlet robin, 1 fantail, 1 redbrow. Applebox Grassy Woodland E of Majura Pines: 15 species incl 6 welcome swallows, 1 white plume, 1 GST, 2 female golden whistlers (1 immature- brown wings), 1 kooka flew over, 1 striated pardalote, 4 spotted pardalotes, 8 redbrows, 1 g fantail, SE of Mt Majura/NE Mt Ainslie in a 'secret valley'- There is an Applebox/brittle gum woodland I had never visited, which had a dense understory of Cassinia and Boxthorn. 8 species: 1 white ear, 1 collored sparrowhawk, 4 scrubwrens, 1 WTT, 3 spotted pardalotes, 2 swamp wallabies, At the dam (Just N of some large powerlines and an E-W dirt Rd between Ainslie and Majura). 7 woodducks, 1 Aust grebe, 1 GST, 2 speckled warblers, 1 male scarlet robin, 1 male golden whistler, 2 grey currawongs. and a big MFF of thornbills.
Then back on the West side behind the suburb of Ainslie is Yellow Box/ Blakeleys Redgum woodland with a dense Poa understory and Cassinia and Lomandra.13 species incl: 2 speckled warblers, 1 female golden whistler, 1 female scarlet robin, 2 grey butcherbirds, 1 g fantail, 3 miners, 1 striated P and 2 spotted pardalotes. |
