This Fan-tailed Cuckoo was enjoying the last of the winter sun above the track that goes south from the horse-gate in Campbell Park this afternoon at 2:45. I did hear a call from a little distance away but could not find the second bird.
A pair of Chestnut Teals and 2 Australian Grebes were on the dam, lots of Wee-bills, Yellow and Buff-rumped Thornbills,
a male Scarlet Robin, Magpies, Noisy Miners, Crimson Rosellas, a mature Grey Butcherbird, several Common Bronzewings were about and what appeared to be a Goshawk of sorts to complete the list. All I got to see of this was the top of the yellow legs and the rufous and buff barring of the underparts before it took off into the trees and very much out of sight. I thought it was a reasonably sized bird but that is all I can say.
