a number of COG members have recently returned from
a most successful Ian Fraser lead Murray to the Mouth (2) environmental
tour upon which more than 180 bird species were recorded. No other bird was so
obliging as this delightful speciman that fluttered around some 2/3 metres above
our heads allowing even the amatuer photographers ( including Terry Munro ) to
take good snaps. The mistletoe bird was clearly observed very adroitly taking
the red skin off the berry , which it then discarded .and swallowed the
white fruit. Here is a special request for other tour members to forward other
photos of this bird to me as an attachment to be used in conjunction with
planned Xmas cards.
