At Pine Island Sth this morning (the road to Pine Island Nth is currently closed) a large group of Striated thornbills moving around the carpark trees. Both Rufous (male) and Golden (immature) whistlers present, and one of the resident group of choughs appeared to be busy on some home renovations of the mud nest that they used last season. Only a couple of Red-rumped parrots and Red-browed finches, but perhaps they've been disturbed by recent renovation work on the track down to the water, because they are often there in large numbers. 19 species in 20 mins
