At Callum Brae this morning a couple of juvenile BSKs indicated a recent successful breeding.  A quietly perched bird (1) was startled (2) by an aggressive swoop from a youngish butcherbird (3), an early show of territorial assertiveness by the bb.  The young flew readily and confidently (4), now being taught to hunt by the parents, 4 birds being in the air at once, with the young performing various clever manoeuvres, like ‘flying close together’(5).
