Swamp Harrier Jerrabomberra Grassland NR
A very dark (first year) Swamp Harrier was soaring over Jerrabomberra Grassland NR (west) this morning at around 11:55. It was an incongruous sight among the model aeroplanes against the vivid blue winter sky!
PJ Milburn

Double-banded Plover Jerrabomberra Turf Farm
Late this afternoon (16:45) a single Double-banded Plover was at the eastern end of the southern most puddle at the Turf Farm, adjacent to the Monaro Highway. It flew off with Black-fronted Plovers almost immediately and I was unable to relocate it.

Fri 8 Jun Hoary-headed Grebe Fyshwick Sewage Treatment Plant
Hoary-headed Grebe (22) - obviously a recent influx as there has been a solitary bird for at least the past month. Also Australasian Shoveler (8) up from 0 in recent weeks.

Thu 7 Jun Red-browed Treecreeper Australian National Botanic Gardens
One watched at close range feeding in a large Eucalyptus mannifera in the Sydney Gully. Likely to be the same individual as that reported by John Leonard about 3 weeks ago.
Steve Holliday

Wed 6 Jun Swift Parrot Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve
Swift Parrot (2) 2 birds, possibly 3, high pitched squeak sound, initially got my attention, flying quickly through eucalypts
