3.45pm - around the National Library, Finance, rose gardens and up towards Parliament House yesterday, also feeding in grass, were countless numbers of S Crested Cockatoos.  I wondered if anyone has ever tried to count SC in Canberra?  I was surprised to see so many.

Today (25. May) on sports fields near the Lyneham Hockey Club around 1000  Galahs. When  disturbed, some birds settled elsewhere on the fields, other smaller flocks took off in various directions only to return gradually to the fields again. The birds where feeding on grass roots.
