As some of you will remember for the last two years I have organised a
Gang-Gang survey day in Canberra
Those two days were not particularly successful in that not enough sightings
were made to draw any conclusions about Gang-Gang numbers in Canberra (the
object of the survey).
This year I have decided to run a survey month in June. I will be asking people
to send me their observations of Gang-Gangs in the Canberra urban area in June
to me. (People should send them to me weekly or at the end of the month for
efficiency, and to me personally, not to the list).
In a few days I will be sending out the instructions, but briefly I will be
asking people to submit three types of observations:
1. Sightings (or aural records) of Gang-Gangs made while the observers are at
home, in their suburb, at work &c
2. Sightings (or aural records) of Gang-Gangs made whilst bird watching in the
urban bush land reserves or similar.
3. Visits to urban island reserves where no Gang-Gangs were recorded.
Cheers
John Leonard
