Hi all – Sharing a great experience.

Sue-Ellen found a group of 5 YTBC’s on an evening walk on Wednesday night (9th) and as this was a first for this site we repeated the walk last night. No sign initially where they had camped on Wednesday night but just as were leaving the said area (about 1720) we heard them in the distance and sure enough a  group of 20 birds were approaching us from a northerly direction and homing in on the spot and landed in the trees in front of us. The gums (do not know the species) are along the path on the eastern side of the Reserve adjacent to the Lyneham North housing area.  They proceeded to make a lot of noise ( a mixture of their normal high pitched call plus a foraging type of sound which is new to us) as they chose their night spots.
We guessed that this would be a flock of adults and juveniles- great sight to see them coming towards us in the rapidly fading light.
