Hey Jude, There is a possibility, admittedly remote, that koalas could be the culprits. Although only reported so far from the Monaro, this behaviour might be more widespread. Damage can be seen at http://www.flickr.com/photos/nswnationalparks/sets/72157625988301497/ The horizontal scars look quite characteristic and distinct from anything else. google 'koala bark chewing monaro' for more details Pete Cranston |
