Today at dusk a small MFF that included Speckled warblers and a Rose robin. Got
a good look at the robin and compared its call with the one on the Morcombe
e-guide immediately. They were just above the powerline track, below which is
now Noisy miner territory.
This makes me more confident of saying I also saw a Rose robin in a very large
and varied MFF about 500 m south of today's on Sunday afternoon, also just
above the powerline track. This one also included Scarlet robins (M and F),
Speckled warblers, Red-browed finches, a White-throated treecreeper, SF wrens,
White-browed scrubwrens, Golden whistlers (F and J), Grey fantails, thornbills
(Brown, Yellow-rumped, Buff-rumped and maybe more), Weebills and Striated
pardalotes. It was lovely just to stand among them for half an hour while they
went about their business.
