I went down to Pine Island yesterday to check out that area, but there were only the odd few passing over along the river - not nearly as many as I was getting at home a few kms away from the river. not a wasted outing though - a flock of 26 red-browed finches feeding on the grass, and a scarlet robin in the carpark. stunning to see how much water must have passed through in recent flood event - so far beyond the current water level.
