Sun 22 Jan Rainbow Lorikeet Calwell
Pair of lorikeets in large eucalpt, then came down to feed on seed. Stayed about 45 mins. Back 25 Jan in evening and fed on seed, fending off other birds such as galahs, little corellas and even a magpie! Fastidiously eating seed for about 30 minutes fending off threats by other birds both alone and together during this time. Told later that there has been a group of these birds over in Wanniassa for some time, so not that far by flight although have never seen them here before in my 8 yrs here nor have I seen them on nearby Tuggeranong Hill during this time.
