Cocoparra had the usual stuff, although not the irruptive species like woodswallows, budgies or chats.   One of the bee-eaters was seen on the ground, apparently eating small pieces of clay-like substance.  HANZAB has one record of the eating of ‘grit’.  This bird appeared to be targeting fragments chipped from the surface of a rock, perhaps attracted by the composition.  It certainly wasn’t digging a burrow, although the chipping action looked a bit like that.  The only similar thing I can think of is female Black Honeyeaters targeting ash during the nesting season.
