To Nicki and Ian, and others, The burst of sudden hot dry weather has blown in a few small flocks of White-browed Woodswallows on the Illawarra Plateau, south and east from Robertson. I heard and then saw them at Budderoo Plateau and then at Carrington Falls. This species is a seasonal straggler in this district. Typically seen when the hot north-westerlies blow our way. Next step New Zealand? Probably not, but I do recall hearing some flying back west (homewards bound) through thick fog - which must have been a very novel experience for them.
